On Thursday, Brazil’s Justice Ministry ordered 32 companies to stop selling e-cigarettes. The businesses must comply with the ban within 48 hours or face a $960 fine.
Brazil has banned e-cigarettes since 2009. Yet vaping products are reportedly still readily available. In the first quarter of 2022, a survey conducted by Vital Strategies and the Federal University of Pelotas showed that 19.7% of Brazilians between the ages of 18 and 24 have tried e-cigarettes.
